Line and wave pieces
Build your own divider by repeating one of these.
Ornaments for the middle
Single marks for the center of a divider.
Brackets and quotes
Wrap a name or a title.
Block pieces
Solid and shaded blocks for thick rules and bars.
Box corners and joins
Corners for frames. They only line up in a fixed-width font, so use them sparingly.
Everything runs in your browser. What you type is not uploaded or saved. These styles are Unicode symbols, so how they look depends on the device and app you paste into.
Ready-made lines and your own
The first three groups hold finished lines. Dividers are single lines that separate parts of a post or bio. Top and bottom borders have a line, a spot for your words and the same line again. Side borders put a mark on each side of one line of text.
Below them are the single pieces: line and wave parts, ornaments, brackets and blocks. Add them to your tray in any order to make a divider of your own, and edit the tray before you copy.
Why lines wrap
These lines are ordinary text, so an app wraps them like words. On a narrow screen a long divider can split in two. If that happens, shorten it or remove a few repeated pieces.
Corner and box pieces such as ╭ and ╯ only meet cleanly in a fixed-width font. In most apps the corners will not line up with a line of text, so use them for small touches rather than a full box.
Where they work
Dividers and borders work in most places that accept text, such as notes, captions, profile bios and chat. Some sites trim blank lines, collapse spaces or remove characters they do not allow, so paste one in and look at it before you rely on it.
Common questions
How do I use the “your text” borders?
Copy the border, paste it, then select the words “your text” and type over them.
Why do the corners not line up?
Box-drawing characters are designed for fixed-width fonts. In a font where letters have different widths, the pieces can sit at different distances.
Can I paste a divider in a bio that has one line?
Choose a divider without line breaks, which is every item in the ready-made dividers group. The top and bottom borders have three lines, so they need an app that allows line breaks.

Discord and Instagram Text Formatting: Markdown vs Unicode Styles
